Your Next Adventure: Go Global Learning with Us!

Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) is committed to providing students with a diverse curriculum and a vibrant campus life. A global perspective is one of the key attributes that HKSYU strives to instil in its graduates. To facilitate this, the International Unit (IU) was established in 2015 to offer students opportunities to study abroad for one or two semesters and to enhance the university’s internationalization efforts.

As of September 2024, the IU has been restructured into the Centre for Global Engagement (CGE). This strategic change aims to better support global initiatives that enrich the experiences and perspectives of our students and faculty. We currently maintain partnerships with nearly 100 universities across 30 countries and regions, including the University of British Columbia in Canada, Michigan State University in the United States, Worcester College at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, Korea University in South Korea, Peking University in Mainland China, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan, and Thammasat University in Thailand. We also promote summer schools, virtual international programmes, and various events to further enhance our academic offerings.

Every day, the world becomes more connected, integrated, and global. At the Centre for Global Engagement (CGE) of The Hong Kong Shue Yan University, we believe that universities play an important role in helping students succeed and thrive in this changing global environment.

Thanks to our wide international network, we build partnerships for academic and research collaboration, and we offer opportunities for staff and student mobility with like-minded institutions around the world.  Through the CGE, we support the development of international partnerships, strengthen relationships with leading universities, and provide briefings and updates to help guide international engagement and collaboration. We also help organize high-level international visits, bringing new opportunities and perspectives to our university community.

Internship Courses

The Industrial Attachment Office (IAO) serves and supports all HKSYU undergraduate students by providing local and overseas industrial attachments, including placements, internships, practicums, service learning, enterprise learning, and work training. These courses are discipline-specific and credit-bearing as part of the undergraduate programmes. The industrial attachment courses aim at broadening students’ social horizons, enriching their learning experience, and strengthening their employability skills through direct engagement in the workplace.
