Study Abroad Scheme
Hong Kong Shue Yan University is committed to providing students with a diversified curriculum and a rich campus life. Having a global outlook is one of the important attributes HKSYU anticipates from its graduates. The International Unit (IU) was established in 2015 to provide opportunities for students to study abroad for a semester or two and, at the same time, to help internationalize the University.
IU will be restructured as the Centre for Global Engagement (CGE) in September 2024. The restructuring is a strategic move to better support global initiatives that can enrich the global experience and perspectives of our students and faculty. Currently, we have agreements with 84 universities in more than 30 countries and regions including McGill University in Canada, University of Essex in the United Kingdom, National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, and Peking University in Mainland China. We also promote virtual international programmes, summer schools, and other activities to enrich your learning experiences.
Internship Courses
The Industrial Attachment Office (IAO) serves and supports all HKSYU undergraduate students by providing local and overseas industrial attachments, including placements, internships, practicums, service learning, enterprise learning, and work training. These courses are discipline-specific and credit-bearing as part of the undergraduate programmes. The industrial attachment courses aim at broadening students’ social horizons, enriching their learning experience, and strengthening their employability skills through direct engagement in the workplace.
