We are the 39th Hong Kong Shue Yan University Film Society, known as Ying Yuet (映玥). Our name derives from the homophonic pronunciation of “月” in the word “moon,” symbolizing our aspiration to illuminate the dark nights and radiate each member of our society.
The Film Society is dedicated to fostering a vibrant local film culture among students and disseminating information and news about Hong Kong’s film industry. We strive to serve as a bridge between students and local films, enabling more individuals to appreciate the development and significance of local films.
Apart from organizing diverse film-related activities and sharing valuable film insights, our society also places great emphasis on enriching the campus life of Shue Yan students. Events such as orientation camps, Valentine’s Day activities, and director interviews will be held regularly. Through these initiatives, we aim not only to promote local films but also to help students seamlessly integrate into university life and create a vibrant and inclusive campus experience.
