We are the 21st Hong Kong Shue Yan University Dance Society, Saltus. Our name is derived from Latin, meaning “forest”. A forest is a large-scale and diverse ecological environment. From sprouting seedlings to thriving trees, various colorful flowers, and animals roaming freely among the trees, each existence is unique yet interdependent. Saltus symbolize that SYU Danso is like a forest, embracing every unique dancer. Each dancer can grow in this forest together with other FM, current, and OG dancers.
By inheriting the spirit of Shue Yan Danso, We help our new dancers grow and thrive in this forest. They can become the person they aspire to be, take root in this forest, bear colorful fruits, continue the legacy of the forest, and scatter seeds to expand the forest.
When it comes to forests, we often associate them with earthy colors, like brown trunks or green plants. We hope to break this monochrome image and create a unique vibrant and colorful forest. We believe that every dancer is a unique individual with diverse colors and Saltus’ forest can be composed with colorful dancers that not limited in mono color.
Saltus silver logo symbolizing that under the sunlight in the forest, we will reflect ever-changing colors. We hope to reflect dancers’ diverse colors and countless talents under the spotlight on stage. We believe that by breaking through our limitations, we can display more colors.
