Step 1: Say No<\/h5>

Tell the harasser that the behaviour is unwelcome and must be stopped immediately.\u00a0 Don\u2019t ignore the behaviour, it might be taken as tacit consent.<\/p>

Step 2: Keep a Record<\/h5>

Write down the details of the incidents, including the dates, times, locations and witnesses, as well as your reactions and feelings.<\/p>

Step 3: Seek Advice<\/h5>

Consult the Student Equal Opportunities Officer, department head, or hall warden for their impartial support in your own decision on how to resolve the matter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Step 4: Mediation<\/h5>

You may opt to resolve the complaint through mediation or other informal measure, or decide to proceed with the formal procedures.<\/p>

Step 5: Complain<\/h5>

You can lodge a formal complaint under the University\u2019s procedures for Handling Discrimination\/Harassment complaints.<\/p>
